Thoughts from Charles Spurgeon's Treasury of David:
The Whole Psalm
We can call this psalm the psalm of Messiah the Prince.
Verse 1 Why do the pagans rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Where there is much rage there is much folly. The verb rage in the Hebrew is in the past tense
and the clause next is in the future and expresses the continuance of the rage.
The Greek denotes, rage, pride and restiveness, as of horses that neigh, and the rush into the battle. It is to snort or neigh, properly applied to high-mettled horses. Notice in Acts 4 verse 25. This psalm is used
Why did the gentiles rage and the people imagine vain things.
